About the Role

This is a contract Video Editor role running three months with the possibility of extension, working hybrid out of New York. Day to day, you are pulling selects, building sequences, and managing the back-and-forth with directors and producers through the picture lock process. The output here spans multiple asset types, so familiarity with varied post-production timelines and deliverable formats is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw footage into finished sequences, balancing pacing, story, and technical delivery requirements for each project.
• Integrate dialogue tracks, sound effects, and music beds into the timeline with attention to sync and overall mix clarity.
• Incorporate graphics packages and special effects elements, coordinating with motion graphics or VFX vendors as needed.
• Manage media organization and project files throughout the post-production workflow to ensure version control and clean handoffs.
• Review rough cuts with directors or producers and implement notes efficiently across revision rounds.
• Prepare and export final deliverables to specification, including format and codec requirements for the intended distribution platform.

What You Bring

• Three to five years of professional experience working as a Video Editor on commercial, episodic television, or digital content projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or Final Cut Pro.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multi-format projects and deliver to platform-specific technical specs.
• Experience working within a hybrid or studio post-production environment and hitting deadlines across concurrent projects.
