Each session involves receiving families, maintaining full character, and delivering a believable and memorable live performance experience for audiences ranging from infants to older children. The role demands the same consistency and presence across early and late slots that any live performance run requires, with no opportunity to drop character mid-session.

Key Responsibilities

• Sustaining a fully realised character performance across multiple daily sessions, adapting tone and energy to audiences of varying ages and emotional states.
• Improvising dialogue and interaction in real time with children and families, drawing on stage or screen performance technique to keep each session feeling genuine.
• Managing pacing and timing across sessions to maintain consistent energy through a full performance day, typically up to 30 hours per week.
• Working within the grotto production setup, taking direction from on-site management and coordinating with support staff between audience sessions.
• Handling unexpected moments with children, including nervous or upset responses, with patience and the kind of instinct that comes from real experience performing for young audiences.
• Representing the Santa’s Grotto Ireland brand through every interaction, treating each family visit as a distinct and complete performance.
