Job Position(s): Production Manager
Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000/year

Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring a Production Manager for an animated series based in New York, New York. This role sits at the operational center of the production, supporting the Line Producer in keeping schedules, budgets, and day-to-day workflows running across all departments of an episodic animation pipeline. It is a good fit for a production professional who already knows how animation series production moves and wants ownership over the operational layer.

About the Role

The Production Manager works directly alongside the Line Producer on an animated series, handling the ground-level logistics that keep the production on track from pre-production through delivery. On any given day, that means tracking department progress against the production schedule, flagging budget variances before they become problems, and making sure the right people and resources are in the right place at the right time. This is a hands-on production management role, not a coordinator stepping up, and it requires someone comfortable making judgment calls in a live animation studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Line Producer in managing all daily production operations for an animated series, keeping activity aligned with the established production schedule and budget parameters.
  • Track departmental outputs across the animation pipeline to identify schedule risks and coordinate solutions before delivery windows are affected.
  • Monitor production spending against the approved budget, flagging overages and working with department heads to keep costs in line.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure materials, assets, and personnel are available when the production requires them.
  • Maintain production reports and documentation that give the Line Producer and studio a clear, current picture of where the series stands at any point.
  • Serve as a communication hub between departments, making sure information about schedule changes, resource shifts, and production priorities moves quickly and accurately.

What You Bring

  • Prior production management or senior production coordinator experience on an animated series or episodic television production.
  • Working knowledge of animation studio production workflows, from pre-production and storyboard through post-production and final delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and manage a production budget alongside a Line Producer or department head.
  • Proficiency with production management and scheduling software used in animation or episodic production environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining production documentation across multiple concurrent departments.

Why This Role

Sony Pictures Entertainment carries one of the more substantial animation and episodic television slates in the industry, and this Production Manager position puts you at the center of that output in New York. The anticipated base salary for this position is $85,000 to $105,000, and the role may also qualify for annual incentive and comprehensive benefits. For a production manager looking to build credits on high-profile animation series production, this is a substantive step.

Apply now for the Production Manager role at Sony Pictures Entertainment and bring your production experience to a studio that is actively making work.
