Job Position(s): Assistant editor / videographer
Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

ProductionBase is hiring an assistant editor and videographer based in Leeds, England. Working across the company’s in-house content operation, this role sits within the post-production workflow and covers everything from shooting to picture finish across a portfolio of branded video projects. It suits a camera-confident editor who is equally at home pulling focus on a shoot day as they are building a sequence in the edit suite.

About the Role

This is an in-house position embedded within ProductionBase’s creative team, producing video content across their family of brands rather than on a single production or episodic television slate. Day to day, the work moves between shooting original footage and editing it through to delivery, with a strong emphasis on narrative structure and editorial craft. The person in this role is expected to carry projects from brief to final output with a degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate camera and manage on-location shoots, covering lighting setups, sound capture, and directing contributors to camera.
  • Assemble and refine edits across multiple projects simultaneously, managing media ingest, sequence organisation, and version control within the post-production workflow.
  • Shape storytelling structure at the assembly and rough cut stages, making editorial decisions that serve the narrative goals of each piece.
  • Deliver finished video content to platform-specific technical specifications, including colour grading and audio mix to broadcast or digital standards.
  • Manage project assets and archive media in an organised, retrievable format that supports a multi-brand content pipeline.
  • Contribute to pre-production planning, including shot listing, scripting support, and scheduling shoot days around post deadlines.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience as an assistant editor or videographer across branded content, corporate video production, or short-form digital projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE, with working knowledge of After Effects or DaVinci Resolve considered a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience operating mirrorless or cinema camera systems, with a sound understanding of exposure, composition, and location audio.
  • A portfolio that shows editorial judgement and the ability to construct a clear, engaging narrative from raw footage.
  • Comfort working across multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities and minimal supervision.

Why This Role

ProductionBase is a well-established name in the UK film and television industry, and this position offers direct access to a team producing content at the centre of that community. For an assistant editor and videographer looking to build credits across varied branded video production work, the cross-brand scope gives genuine breadth. Leeds has a growing screen industries presence, and this role places you in it full time.

Apply now for the assistant editor and videographer role at ProductionBase and take the next step in your post-production career.
