Lionsgate is hiring an Analyst, Content Analysis, Business Strategy & Planning at its Santa Monica, CA office. This role sits within the Motion Picture Group’s Content Analysis team, where the core output is financial modeling and strategic analysis that directly informs greenlight decisions on films, games, and live entertainment. It is a strong fit for someone coming out of investment banking, management consulting, or corporate strategy who wants to move into the business side of feature film development and distribution.

About the Role

The Content Analysis team operates as an internal advisory function for senior executives across Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, touching everything from individual film P&Ls to M&A due diligence on strategic equity investments. On any given day, this Analyst, Content Analysis, Business Strategy & Planning position involves building or updating financial models for projects at various stages of the motion picture production pipeline, running IRR and NPV analyses on talent and distribution deals, and preparing executive-level reporting for the Chair of MPG and C-Suite leadership. The team works across Production, Global Sales & Distribution, Business & Legal Affairs, and Global Marketing, so the exposure to the full motion picture business is genuine and broad.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain P&Ls for films, games, and live stage productions from development through greenlight, theatrical release, and post-release performance tracking.
• Model talent, distribution, and equity deal structures in close coordination with executives during active deal negotiations.
• Evaluate profit/loss, NPV, and IRR across individual projects and business units to measure alignment with MPG content strategy and financial KPIs.
• Develop financial models and business cases for M&A due diligence, deal structuring, and new business ventures across emerging media formats.
• Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis team during quarterly forecasts and the Annual Plan to show how individual content decisions affect the overall MPG P&L.
• Produce high-level strategic reporting for the EVP of Business Strategy & Planning and Division leads across the Motion Picture Group.

What You Bring

• 2 or more years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, or business development, preferably with exposure to the entertainment industry.
• Outstanding Excel and financial modeling skills are required, with moderate proficiency in PowerPoint.
• Experience with Tableau, Sigma, VBA, or AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot is a plus.
• Comfort working directly with senior executives and synthesizing complex financial data into clear, decision-ready analysis.
