Job Position(s): Wildlife Video Editor & Social Content Repurposer
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

The Big Job Site is hiring a Wildlife Video Editor & Social Content Repurposer for a part-time remote engagement based out of Veracruz, Ver, MX. This is a post-production role focused on cutting a large existing video library into short-form content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube for an educational channel built around wildlife coexistence. It suits an editor who is comfortable working within an established style guide and has real experience with social media post-production workflow, not just primary editorial.

About the Role

You will be working inside the digital content and social distribution pipeline, not on a traditional long-form production, so the output is measured in clips, reels, and platform-optimized cuts rather than sequences or episodes. The role is part-time with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 to 9:30 PT, with video editing making up roughly 90% of the workload and light virtual assistance filling the remainder. A typical day involves pulling selects from archive footage, conforming cuts to each platform’s specs, and maintaining tonal and visual consistency across a growing content library.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit archival wildlife footage into short-form vertical and square content formatted to the technical requirements of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.
  • Repurpose long-form educational video content into YouTube Shorts and platform-specific cuts without losing the channel’s established messaging.
  • Maintain a consistent visual style across all deliverables, including pacing, color treatment, and lower thirds or text overlays aligned to existing templates.
  • Manage and organize a large video asset library so footage is accessible and properly labeled for ongoing content production.
  • Perform light virtual assistance tasks that support the production and scheduling side of the channel’s content calendar.
  • Deliver finished cuts on a regular cadence to support a Mon through Fri publishing schedule across multiple social platforms.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience editing short-form social content for digital distribution, with a portfolio showing work across at least two major platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE used in professional post-production workflow.
  • Familiarity with aspect ratio conversion, captioning, and platform-specific export specs for short-form video.
  • Experience working with pre-existing footage libraries and matching an established editorial tone rather than building from scratch.
  • Strong organizational habits for managing digital assets across a high-volume content production environment.

Why This Role

The Big Job Site is placing this role for a channel with a clear editorial identity and a substantial archive to work from, which means consistent work rather than project-to-project gaps common in freelance short-form production. The focus on wildlife coexistence content gives this role a subject matter through-line that many social media editing contracts lack, and the part-time structure keeps it stackable with other production commitments.

Apply now for the Wildlife Video Editor & Social Content Repurposer position with The Big Job Site and bring real post-production discipline to a channel that has the content, just needs the craft.
