Videographer/Photographer

Instant Crush, a Melbourne-based photo and video production house, is hiring a Videographer/Photographer for their in-house crew in Cheltenham, Victoria. This role sits across the full production and post-production workflow, capturing and cutting content for events, tourism, product, and hospitality campaigns from initial shoot through to final delivery in social, web, and broadcast formats. It suits a camera operator and editor who is equally comfortable on a run-and-gun event shoot as they are in a controlled studio production environment.

About the Role

The Videographer/Photographer joins a small in-house team that handles everything from social video production to television-level campaigns for clients including councils, national brands, and premium hospitality venues. Most of the working week is split between on-location shoots and the edit suite at the Cheltenham studio, with one to two days of remote editing on lighter production weeks. The brief changes week to week, from festival coverage and tourism content to food and product shoots inside hatted restaurants.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cinema and mirrorless cameras across events, council, tourism, product, and hospitality shoots, handling lighting and audio alongside the camera package.
• Edit same-day and next-day social deliverables on site at events and activations, turning around vertical reels, TikToks, and 16:9 hero films to brief.
• Take projects through the full post-production workflow including assembly cut, colour grade in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, sound mix, and multi-format export.
• Work with producers in pre-production to develop shot lists and call sheets, and direct talent, chefs, and real people on set to get performance and composition right.
• Capture stills alongside video where the brief requires dual coverage, and handle photo editing and retouching when delivering combined packages.
• Maintain and organise the camera, audio, and lighting kit, and manage footage backup and media workflow across projects.

What You Bring

• At least two years of professional videography experience in an in-house or agency production environment.
• A showreel demonstrating strong composition, storytelling, and editorial craft across a range of content types.
• Advanced skills in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, including colour grading, with the ability to edit accurately under deadline pressure on location.
• Professional photography skills with Lightroom and Photoshop retouching are strongly preferred, allowing single-operator coverage across photo and video briefs.
• A full Australian driver’s licence and the right to work in Australia are required, and a CASA drone licence (RePL) is a bonus.

Why This Role

Instant Crush has a decade in the industry and a client list that spans government, tourism, and national retail, which means the content production slate is broad and the output is visible, from social feeds through to billboard campaigns. The salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation depending on experience, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes one to two days working from home aligned to the shoot calendar. For a videographer and photographer who wants genuine variety in a studio production context without being siloed into one content type, this is a practical and well-resourced setup.
