Video Editor

Cricket Australia is hiring a casual Video Editor based in East Melbourne, VIC. This role sits within the digital content team, where the primary output is edited highlights packages, social-first video content, and storytelling pieces drawn from live match coverage, archive footage, and exclusive behind-the-scenes access across Australian and international cricket. It suits an editor who is comfortable working in a sports broadcast and digital post-production workflow, managing multiple deliverables across a compressed in-season schedule.

About the Role

The Video Editor reports to the Digital Video Lead and works as part of a content team building out Cricket Australia’s digital presence ahead of the 2026-27 summer season. Day-to-day work involves pulling and cutting match vision to deadline, building highlights packages within geo-targeting and duration specs, and producing platform-native content for social distribution. This is a casual position, which means availability across weekends and public holidays during the cricket season is part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit highlights packages from live and completed cricket matches, applying geo-targeting restrictions and platform-specific duration requirements to each deliverable.
• Source and cut footage from live broadcast feeds, archive libraries, and exclusive access shoots to produce timely video content for digital distribution.
• Monitor emerging trends in sports content and digital video post-production, and bring specific ideas to the team for timely release.
• Deliver commercial and stakeholder content requirements consistently, maintaining editorial standards comparable to elite sports broadcasters globally.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously within a high-output in-season production workflow, meeting tight editorial deadlines without supervision.

What You Bring

• At least two years of experience producing and editing engaging video content in a sports, broadcast, or digital media environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects as the core editing and motion graphics tools.
• A working knowledge of digital content formats across social platforms and how post-production workflow adapts to each.
• Strong organisational skills and a self-sufficient approach to managing deliverables across concurrent projects.
• A genuine understanding of cricket, which directly informs editorial decisions around match storytelling and highlight selection.
• A valid Working with Children Check, which is a requirement for all Cricket Australia team members.

Why This Role

This Video Editor role offers real volume and variety, cutting everything from short-form social clips to longer player-driven pieces within a team that has the access and archive to support serious editorial work. Applications close at 5pm on Sunday 18 October.
