About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Video Production, the Video Editor works across the full post-production workflow, from ingesting and organizing media to picture lock, sound, color, and versioning for multiple platforms. The subject matter centers on public safety, first responders, and government agencies, so the work requires finding the human story inside complex, technical content. A typical day involves pulling selects from interview transcripts, shaping a rough cut, managing graphics and lower thirds, and communicating project status across editorial and marketing stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit documentary-style customer stories, employee profiles, brand films, and product content from raw footage through final delivery across web, social, and paid media formats.
• Build narrative structure from unscripted interview footage, vérité material, b-roll, and product demonstrations, shaping pacing, music, and sound to serve the story.
• Own the complete post-production pipeline, including ingest, media management, assembly edit through picture lock, motion graphics, color, and archiving.
• Cut hero edits into platform-specific versions for social and paid media, and identify unused material that can be developed into standalone content.
• Create and maintain polished titles, lower thirds, and end cards, with light motion graphics work built into the editorial process.
• Manage relationships with freelance editors, colorists, sound mixers, and motion designers to bring in support when project volume requires it.

What You Bring

• Significant professional editing experience across documentary, branded content, or commercial production, with a reel that demonstrates strong narrative editing.
• Fluency in industry-standard post-production software, with Premiere Pro or Avid as your primary NLE and working knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-project editorial workload with clear communication and consistent attention to detail.
• Experience building and maintaining organized post-production workflows, including media management, versioning, and delivery specifications.
• Comfort working on productions on-set or on location to capture edit notes and collaborate directly with crew during principal photography.
