About the Role

The Freelance Video Editor, Long-Form (Nation) works within the Fox Nation Post-Production team, cutting content across News, Politics, True Crime, Lifestyle, and Sports genres for the direct-to-consumer streaming platform. A typical day involves working from raw footage through picture lock, handling motion graphics in After Effects, and finishing audio in Audition before delivering broadcast-quality masters. This is a full-scope editing role where one editor carries a project from assembly cut to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form programming across multiple genres, building narrative structure and pacing from raw footage through final delivery on the FOX Nation streaming platform.
• Collaborate with producers on story arc development, ensuring consistent rhythm and editorial flow across full-length documentary and news programming.
• Conceptualize and build motion graphics, show packages, and visual treatments using After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
• Select and cut music to picture, making creative decisions that serve emotional tone and drive narrative momentum throughout the long-form post-production workflow.
• Serve as the final quality control checkpoint, ensuring all deliverables meet broadcast audio and video technical specifications with zero errors.
• Work within collaborative multi-editor Premiere Pro environments, managing shared project structures and production assets across a team.

What You Bring

• Five to ten years of experience editing long-form content, with a track record across news, true crime, or documentary television production.
• Deep proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated motion graphics experience with polished show graphics built in After Effects and Photoshop, not just template work.
• Experience delivering finished long-form content for streaming platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with generative media tools such as Adobe Firefly.
