About the Role

The video editor at Edit Lounge works across a varied slate of branded content and corporate video production, interfacing directly with producers and clients throughout the edit. Day-to-day work involves cutting interviews, shaping narrative arcs, dropping in music, and turning around social cuts on shorter timelines. Mandarin proficiency is strongly preferred, as a number of projects involve Mandarin-speaking clients, Chinese-language interviews, subtitle creation, and translation checks.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut and deliver edited sequences across branded video, corporate films, social content, and interview-based formats from assembly through to final output.
• Shape editorial pacing and structure using music, sound design, and narrative logic, not just clip placement.
• Handle subtitle creation and translation review on Chinese-language productions, working closely with Mandarin-speaking clients and talent.
• Manage multiple project timelines simultaneously, prioritising deliverables across varying turnaround windows.
• Collaborate directly with broadcast producers during the post-production workflow, incorporating notes efficiently across revision rounds.
• Apply a considered eye to graphics integration and sound, maintaining consistency in tone and presentation across deliverables.

What You Bring

• Solid working knowledge of Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or AVID in a professional post-production context.
• A demonstrable reel across branded content, corporate video production, social formats, or interview editing.
• Strong editorial instincts around pacing, emotion, and music selection built through real project experience.
• Mandarin language proficiency, spoken and written, to support Chinese-language client projects and subtitle workflows.
• Comfort working alongside broadcast producers and adapting to client-facing feedback in a professional setting.
