VFX Production Manager (General Submission)
- Full Time
- Toronto, ON
Company 3
Company 3 is accepting general submissions for a VFX Production Manager based in Toronto, ON, for potential future consideration as positions open up. This role sits inside the VFX production pipeline and is responsible for keeping visual effects projects moving from brief through delivery, managing schedules, budgets, vendor relationships, and the day-to-day coordination between artists, supervisors, and clients. It suits a production-side professional who has spent real time inside a VFX studio or post-production workflow and knows how to hold a project together when things shift.
About the Role
Company 3 operates under its Curated business unit for this position, where the VFX Production Manager works directly alongside VFX Producers, supervisors, and artists across projects of varying scale and complexity. On any given day, this person is tracking deliverables, running dailies and client reviews, managing render time allocation, and making sure asset version control does not become a problem downstream. The role is remote-eligible from Toronto and covers the full production lifecycle from initial scheduling through post-mortem.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules across the VFX pipeline, tracking task dependencies, deadlines, and resource availability for artists, software, and render capacity.
- Monitor project budgets and track expenses throughout production, flagging variances before they become overruns.
- Act as the primary communication link between the internal production team, VFX artists, supervisors, and external vendors, distributing accurate updates and production reports to all stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce workflow standards, naming conventions, and asset organization protocols to maintain consistency across the production pipeline.
- Facilitate production meetings, client reviews, dailies sessions, and post-mortems, documenting outcomes and distributing follow-up materials.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks proactively, developing practical solutions that keep projects on schedule and within scope.
What You Bring
- Prior experience working in VFX production, with demonstrated credits managing or coordinating projects from start to delivery.
- Proven ability to manage VFX projects across different scales, from episodic television to larger feature film production environments.
- Strong working knowledge of production tracking tools and post-production workflow management.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with close attention to detail at the asset and schedule level.
- Experience liaising with clients and managing expectations throughout a production cycle.
Why This Role
Company 3 is one of the more established names in post-production and VFX, with a reputation built across high-end episodic and feature work. This general submission is a direct line into their Toronto team for candidates who want to be considered when a VFX Production Manager opening comes available. The budgeted compensation range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 CAD annually.
