Job Position(s): VFX Production Coordinator
Project Type: VFX Production
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Framestore is hiring a VFX Production Coordinator for its New York office, joining the Integrated Advertising Division on a full-time staff basis. This role sits at the center of the VFX pipeline, supporting Producers and the Head of Production in keeping CG and 2D work moving from brief through to final delivery. It’s a strong fit for someone early in their post-production career who wants real hands-on exposure to how a commercial VFX pipeline operates from the inside.

About the Role

The VFX Production Coordinator works directly alongside Producers on advertising projects, tracking workflow through the CG department and managing the connective tissue between artists, supervisors, and clients. Day to day, that means running dailies, maintaining ShotGrid, coordinating data movement, and keeping deliveries on schedule across Nuke, Hiero, and Flame. This position is structured as a clear stepping stone toward an Associate Producer track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and manage CG department workflow under the supervision of the VFX Producer, ensuring internal and external deadlines are met across the production pipeline.
  • Organize dailies, rounds, and production meetings, taking notes and following up on action items with leads and supervisors.
  • Keep ShotGrid updated daily with current notes, scheduling changes, and critical production information for the full team.
  • Monitor WIP updates moving from the Nuke compositing team through the Hiero editorial pipeline, and oversee final delivery through Flame.
  • Oversee client deliveries end to end, including the creation of QuickTimes and packaged deliverables via Front 2.
  • Work with the Crewing Manager to resource the CG and 2D team with freelancers as needed, and maintain the global scheduling system CETA in coordination with the Creative Resource Manager.

What You Bring

  • Prior experience in a VFX production or post-production workflow environment, ideally within advertising or commercial production.
  • Working knowledge of ShotGrid (formerly Shotgun) as a production tracking and database tool.
  • Familiarity with compositing and editorial tools including Nuke, Hiero, and Flame is a genuine advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills applied to real production scheduling, not just administrative coordination.
  • Must be based in New York or the surrounding area at time of hire, as this is a hybrid position with required in-office presence.

Why This Role

Framestore has a long track record in high-end VFX production across advertising and beyond, and this New York team is growing. The VFX Production Coordinator role is explicitly designed to move people toward producing, which is a real commitment, not just language in a job post. If you want to understand how a VFX pipeline actually runs across departments, this is the kind of staff role that teaches it.
