Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $25 - $31/hr

Syracuse University is hiring a Temporary ACC Network Production Assistant based in Syracuse, New York, to support live remote broadcast productions through the university’s Athletics Production department. This role sits at the technical core of live event television production, covering everything from camera operation and audio to graphics, replay, and engineering across ACC Network broadcasts. It’s a strong fit for an early-to-mid career live production professional who knows their way around a remote truck and wants real broadcast credits.

About the Role

The Athletics Production department at Syracuse University produces live collegiate sports broadcasts for the ACC Network, and this position works directly within that production pipeline on game days and related events. Depending on the day and the production’s needs, the Temporary ACC Network Production Assistant may rotate through multiple technical roles including Technical Director, Replay Operator, Audio Technician, or Camera Operator. The work is hands-on and crew-facing, with each shift running from equipment setup through broadcast execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate broadcast equipment across technical roles including camera, audio, graphics, replay, and video engineering depending on production requirements for each live event.
  • Prepare and configure equipment before each broadcast, ensuring all technical elements are ready to support the production plan laid out by department leadership.
  • Execute live event production tasks in real time, responding to direction from the Athletics Production Department during broadcast.
  • Run cable, parabolic microphones, and utility duties as assigned, which are critical to clean audio and signal flow on location.
  • Track upcoming events and maintain your own schedule in direct coordination with the Production Operations Manager.
  • Stay current on equipment and technology developments relevant to your area of specialization within live sports television production.

What You Bring

  • An associate degree or equivalent hands-on training in video production, with direct experience in live event or remote production environments.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast-standard production equipment used in live television, including cameras, audio consoles, graphics systems, and replay servers.
  • Familiarity with NCAA and ACC rules and regulations as they apply to broadcast operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in real time during live broadcasts without disrupting the production.
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts, which are standard for collegiate sports broadcast schedules.

Why This Role

Syracuse University has a long-standing Athletics Production operation with direct ties to ACC Network programming, giving crew members genuine broadcast television credits rather than internal or streaming-only productions. This is a temporary position with a pay range of $25.00 to $31.25 per hour, determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity factors. For someone building a career in live sports television production, the combination of real network output and institutional support is worth serious consideration.

Apply now for the Temporary ACC Network Production Assistant role at Syracuse University and bring your live production experience to a broadcast crew with real network reach.
