Netflix is hiring a Technical Trainer for its Animation Studios, based in 38 Driver, Australia. This role sits within the Talent Development and Training team and is responsible for designing and delivering technical education across the full CG production pipeline, from onboarding through to advanced tools training in Maya, Houdini, and Nuke. About the Role

The Technical Trainer reports to the Director of Production Training and Talent Development and works as part of a global team that includes a counterpart in Vancouver. Day-to-day work spans curriculum development, running instructor-led training sessions, maintaining the Learning Management System, and partnering with department leads across animation production to identify skill gaps and build targeted course content. The work directly supports artists and production staff across feature film production at a studio building its end-to-end pipeline from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver new-hire onboarding training that introduces artists and crew to Netflix Animation’s studio tools, production workflows, and pipeline conventions.
• Run instructor-led training sessions covering 3D animation software including Maya, Houdini, and Nuke, as well as cinematography and design fundamentals relevant to CG feature production.
• Partner with subject matter experts across technology and production departments to convert internal materials into structured courses and workshops with clear learning objectives.
• Create, upload, and maintain courses within the Learning Management System, including tracking completion data and designing supporting graphics and interface assets.
• Keep existing training materials current with production pipeline changes, and develop new content when workflows or tools are updated across the animation studio.
• Coordinate training room logistics, AV and technical setup, scheduling, and delivery of internal learning events across Netflix Animation’s global studio locations.

What You Bring

• Direct, hands-on experience working within a CG production pipeline, ideally in feature film production or long-form animation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D and compositing software, with working knowledge of Maya, Houdini, or Nuke in a production context.
• Demonstrated instructional design skills, including building course outlines, writing learning objectives, and assessing training outcomes in both in-person and online formats.
• Experience managing or contributing to a Learning Management System, including course creation and tracking of instructor-led training programs.
• Strong communication skills built through working directly with artists, department leads, and production teams in a studio environment.
