Supervising Producer

About the Role

Day to day, this person is managing producers, reviewing content against editorial briefs, coordinating high-profile sponsorship projects, and working with Strategic Insights teams to measure performance and inform future output. Production travel to global bureaus is part of the role, with collaboration across CNN’s international network a regular part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of story treatments across digital, television, and social platforms, holding all output to CNN’s editorial standards and compliance requirements including S&P and Ofcom guidelines.
• Lead a team of producers through the full production lifecycle on sponsorship and editorial projects, ensuring delivery against KPIs, scheduling milestones, and content briefs.
• Coordinate A/B testing and SEO optimisation strategies on digital feature content in partnership with editorial and strategy teams.
• Manage production budgets across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining cost awareness and reporting accurately to leadership throughout each production cycle.
• Build and maintain working relationships with on-air talent, regional bureaus, and cross-functional stakeholders to support multi-platform content production across time zones.
• Mentor junior producers and contribute to team development through structured learning initiatives and hands-on editorial guidance.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience producing video content for a global news organisation or factual television production environment.
• A track record of managing production budgets and delivering complex, multi-platform projects on schedule.
• Strong writing, editing, and editorial judgment skills with solid knowledge of current affairs and global storytelling.
• Direct experience working with on-air talent and high-profile individuals in a broadcast or digital news context.
• Working knowledge of S&P and Ofcom compliance frameworks and how they apply in content production.
