A typical day might involve reviewing cost reports, overseeing month-end financial close, or working through incentive structures with production service companies in an international market. This person is expected to act as a genuine business partner to Creative Development, Business Affairs, Legal, and Accounting, not just a reporting function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee production accounting teams across global original film productions, ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting from greenlight through show closure.
• Lead month-end financial reporting processes and manage account reconciliation review across the full feature film production portfolio.
• Manage external relationships with production service companies and preferred vendors to support international production finance operations.
• Liaise with Production Audit, Tax, and Legal teams to keep production finance policies current and properly implemented across all active productions.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies into production accounting workflow, staying current with industry trends and evolving production incentive programs.
• Develop financial controls and reporting processes that support controllership standards as the studio’s production slate continues to grow.

What You Bring

• Substantial experience in production finance or production accounting within a major studio or streamer environment covering feature film production.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production accounting staff across concurrent global productions in multiple territories.
• Working knowledge of international production incentive programs, tax credit submissions, and cross-border cash management.
• Strong grasp of studio financial reporting requirements, including cost reporting, budget variance analysis, and final cost processes.
• Ability to communicate financial findings clearly to senior creative and business leadership without relying on jargon.
