Framestore is hiring a Senior/Mid Compositor with Nuke expertise for their London studio. This role sits within the compositing department, where the focus is integrating 2D, 3D, and live-action elements into finished VFX shots for high-end feature film production. It suits a compositor who knows their way around a complex VFX pipeline and can hold their own working directly alongside leads and supervisors on demanding projects.

About the Role

You’ll be embedded in Framestore’s compositing team in London, contributing to the kind of large-scale VFX work the studio is consistently credited on across premium film and television productions. Day to day, that means pulling together multi-pass CG renders, handling plate work, and delivering polished composites through an established post-production workflow. The role is full-time and based in the UK, with a start date of August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Composite multi-layer CG passes with live-action plates in Nuke, maintaining shot consistency across sequences.
• Work directly with Compositing Leads and VFX Supervisors to interpret creative briefs and hit technical deliverables on schedule.
• Manage colour, grain, and depth integration to ensure CG elements read convincingly within the live-action environment.
• Track and flag technical issues within the VFX pipeline early, communicating clearly with leads rather than waiting for review to surface problems.
• Contribute to shot turnover and internal reviews, incorporating notes efficiently across multiple active shots simultaneously.
• Maintain organised, well-structured Nuke scripts that other compositors on the team can pick up and continue without friction.

What You Bring

• Mid to senior level compositing experience, with a reel that demonstrates clean integration of CG and live-action elements on film or television projects.
• Deep working knowledge of Nuke, including node-based compositing, deep compositing, and managing complex multi-pass renders.
• Proven ability to handle multiple shots at different stages of the VFX pipeline without dropping quality or missing deadlines.
• A proactive working style and the confidence to raise issues and suggest solutions in a collaborative studio environment.
• Prior credits on feature film production or high-end episodic television are expected at this level.
