Lionsgate is hiring a Senior Director, Digital Insights to join their Motion Picture Group in Santa Monica, CA. This role sits within the Global Research and Digital Insights division, where the focus is translating social conversation, sentiment data, and earned media signals into marketing strategy that directly shapes how theatrical and streaming titles are positioned and campaigned. About the Role
Reporting to the SVP of Global Research and Digital Insights, this position supports the marketing function across Lionsgate’s theatrical slate of 10 to 15 wide releases per year, plus a broader slate of multi-platform and direct-to-streaming titles. Day to day, the Senior Director, Digital Insights is monitoring real-time social performance, building reporting infrastructure, and briefing senior marketing leadership on what audience data actually means for campaign decisions. The work spans a title’s full lifecycle from pre-release tracking through opening weekend and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time social conversation, sentiment, and creative performance metrics across platforms to surface insights that shape theatrical marketing campaigns at every stage.
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards and KPI frameworks that track campaign performance across a film’s full release lifecycle.
- Translate complex social listening and earned media data into clear strategic recommendations for senior marketing leadership, including guidance on audience targeting and messaging.
- Track platform dynamics, audience behavior, and industry trends to identify risks and opportunities tied to upcoming feature film releases.
- Manage vendor and agency relationships with a focus on data integrity, methodological rigor, and budget efficiency.
- Mentor the Associate Manager of Digital Insights and lead the team’s budget in coordination with Marketing Finance.
What You Bring
- 8 or more years in analytics, social listening, or audience insights, preferably within film or television entertainment.
- Hands-on proficiency with social listening platforms such as ListenFirst, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Netbase, or Sprinklr.
- Working knowledge of Boolean logic and social listening taxonomies for building accurate, scalable search queries.
- Experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Tableau or Sigma, and familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake is a plus.
- Proven ability to build benchmarks, measure campaign ROI, and present findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
