Job Type
FOX Entertainment is hiring a Production Assistant for FOX & Friends, based in New York, New York. This role sits inside the live morning news production workflow, where the PA handles everything from guest coordination and greenroom management to video editing support and segment production. It suits an early-career broadcast professional who wants real ownership of on-air output from day one, not coffee runs.
About the Role
FOX & Friends is the number one national cable morning show, and this Production Assistant position sits at the center of its daily live television production. The shift runs Saturday through Wednesday, 3:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET, which means this person is in the building when the show is being built, not watching from the sidelines. A typical day moves between coordinating live guests, pulling and cutting video for coverage, writing scripts and banners, and pitching story ideas that can make it to air the same morning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate live guests appearing both in studio and on remote, managing logistics before and during broadcast.
- Manage the greenroom and serve as a direct point of contact for show hosts and high-profile on-air talent.
- Locate, cut, and plug video into live news production segments, working alongside editors to match coverage needs in real time.
- Write scripts, banners, and research packets that feed directly into the live broadcast workflow.
- Coordinate live shots with studio and field crews, keeping remote production elements in sync with the control room.
- Produce original content for social media platforms, extending coverage beyond the linear broadcast.
What You Bring
- Prior experience in TV news production or a communications role with direct broadcast exposure.
- Demonstrated ability to write for air, including scripts and lower-third copy, under deadline pressure.
- Strong working knowledge of digital and social media platforms as production and distribution tools.
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is preferred, though equivalent production experience is considered.
- Availability to start immediately and commit to the Saturday through Wednesday early morning schedule.
Why This Role
FOX Entertainment produces the most watched cable news program in the country, and a Production Assistant here is working inside live television production at a scale most entry-level roles never touch. This position pays $19.00 to $27.65 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off. For someone building a career in broadcast journalism or live news production, the daily repetition and responsibility here compound quickly.
Apply now for the Production Assistant role at FOX Entertainment and bring your production instincts to one of cable news’s most recognized morning programs.
