Job Position(s): Publicity Coordinator, Searchlight Pictures
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $54,000 - $72,300/year

Disney is hiring a Publicity Coordinator at Searchlight Pictures, based in Burbank, CA. This role sits within the Searchlight publicity department and is responsible for executing press campaigns from talent logistics through festival coordination across the company’s theatrical and streaming film slate. It’s a good fit for someone who has cut their teeth in studio publicity or a film PR agency and knows how to keep a campaign moving across multiple titles at once.

About the Role

Searchlight Pictures, part of The Walt Disney Studios, operates as a specialty film label with its own marketing and distribution infrastructure, and a track record that includes five Best Picture Oscar winners since 2009. The Publicity Coordinator supports the publicity team across all phases of a film’s press campaign, from pre-release screenings and press junkets through awards season pushes. On any given day that means managing travel for talent and filmmakers, tracking PIX and Debut screening links, processing vendor invoices, and keeping campaign budgets updated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all press and word-of-mouth screenings, including RSVP management, press check-in, and distribution of attendee lists for assigned theatrical and streaming titles.
  • Arrange travel, transportation, and grooming logistics for talent and filmmakers across your assigned film campaigns, with availability outside standard hours when productions demand it.
  • Compile and circulate campaign materials including talent contact sheets, press reaction memos, and film timelines to keep the full publicity team aligned.
  • Manage logistics for press days and film festival appearances, covering hotel bookings, press invitations, and coordination of incoming press requests under senior team guidance.
  • Process vendor setups, invoices, and check requests in coordination with Legal, Finance, and Payroll to keep campaign spending compliant and on track.
  • Maintain weekly film publicity budgets and build talent schedules, film calendars, and status reports for individual titles and the broader department.

What You Bring

  • Prior experience in studio publicity, a film PR agency, or a related entertainment marketing role supporting feature film campaigns.
  • Familiarity with press screening workflows, including PIX and Debut platform links used in specialty film distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and process contracts across departments including Legal and Finance.
  • Experience building and maintaining production calendars and talent schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfort working across internal teams including Photo, EPK, Digital, and Awards, as is standard in a studio publicity department.

Why This Role

Searchlight Pictures has produced some of the most decorated specialty films of the last two decades, and this Publicity Coordinator position puts you directly inside the team running those campaigns from the ground up. Working within The Walt Disney Studios structure gives you access to cross-functional resources that most independent film publicity operations simply do not have. For a coordinator looking to build a career in awards season publicity and specialty film marketing, the slate and the infrastructure here are genuinely hard to match.

Apply now for the Publicity Coordinator role at Searchlight Pictures and bring your film publicity experience to one of the most recognized specialty labels in the industry.
