Job Position(s): Post-Production Producer - Advertising Department
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Rodeo FX is hiring a Post-Production Producer for its Advertising Department in Toronto, Canada. This role sits at the center of the studio’s Toronto ADS post-production workflow, responsible for producing VFX advertising projects from bid through delivery. It’s a fit for a seasoned producer who knows how to run a VFX pipeline on commercial work and can hold client relationships without hand-holding.

About the Role

The Post-Production Producer works under the Toronto Executive Producer and operates as the day-to-day lead across all advertising projects produced by the Toronto ADS team. That means managing budgets, building post-production schedules, and being present in the studio for client sessions. When capacity allows, this role also covers film and episodic VFX production, giving a producer with broader credits a place to use them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the bidding process for advertising VFX opportunities, working alongside the global ADS team to scope and quote each project accurately.
  • Build and manage the full post-production schedule for Toronto advertising projects, adjusting timelines as client requests and scope changes come in.
  • Handle crew planning tasks including booking artists for potential and confirmed projects, and attending the weekly ADS resource meeting to keep staffing aligned with the slate.
  • Assign key talent in collaboration with department heads, run kick-off meetings with HODs and the crew planning team, and ensure Shotgrid stays current throughout production.
  • Maintain regular client communication on project status, anticipate budget or schedule pressure points, and revise quotes when scope shifts.
  • Contribute to post-mortem meetings, flag production issues, and support the Executive Producer on business development work as needed.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience producing advertising or commercial VFX projects at a post-production or visual effects studio.
  • Working knowledge of Shotgrid for project tracking, scheduling, and artist task management.
  • Hands-on familiarity with grading and online session workflows, including how to help structure those processes from the ground up.
  • Experience reading and managing VFX budgets, including quoting on new projects and tracking actuals against estimates.
  • Comfort producing film or episodic VFX work in addition to advertising projects is a plus.

Why This Role

Rodeo FX has built a reputation across advertising, episodic, and feature film VFX with studios on both sides of the Atlantic, and the Toronto office is an active part of that production slate. This Post-Production Producer position sits close to the creative and client-facing work, not buried in an administrative layer, which matters for producers who want to stay hands-on. The studio places weight on work environment and team culture, which shapes how the production department actually functions day to day.
