Video Editor & Social Media Content Repurposer

The Big Job Site is hiring a part-time Video Editor and Social Media Content Repurposer based in Veracruz, Ver, MX to support an educational wildlife platform. This role sits firmly in the post-production workflow, focused on cutting and reformatting an existing video library into short-form and long-form social media content across Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. It suits an editor who is comfortable working independently in a remote digital content pipeline and knows how to shape archival footage into platform-ready storytelling.

About the Role

This position operates within a small content team producing educational material about wildlife coexistence, specifically focused on bears. A typical day involves pulling footage from a Dropbox library, editing clips to match established style and pacing, and preparing assets formatted to each platform’s specifications. The Video Editor and Social Media Content Repurposer will also assist with YouTube channel development, helping build out a long-form presence from footage originally cut for shorter formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, categorize, and label a substantial existing video library in Dropbox, building a consistent asset management system for efficient post-production retrieval.
• Edit source footage into polished short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook, matching the established visual style, pacing, and tone of the account.
• Repurpose existing social media footage into longer-form YouTube content, including handling titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnail preparation.
• Add captions, text overlays, transitions, music, and sound design elements while ensuring each deliverable is properly formatted for its target platform.
• Track the status of edited, approved, scheduled, and published content, maintaining organized records across all active social media channels.
• Research media outlets, podcast opportunities, and potential collaborations, and support the client in managing incoming inquiries from journalists and production companies.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience editing short-form social media content, with a portfolio showing platform-specific work across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Working knowledge of professional video editing software used in digital content production, with strong file management habits.
• Familiarity with cross-platform content repurposing and adapting aspect ratios, captions, and pacing for different distribution channels.
• Ability to maintain brand consistency across a multi-platform content calendar without direct supervision.
• Availability Monday through Friday within a flexible window aligned to US Pacific Time hours.
