Job Position(s): Video Editor / Motion Designer
Project Type: Documentary
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Nox Metals is hiring a Video Editor / Motion Designer for a full-time, in-person role based in either Los Angeles or Metro Detroit. This position sits at the center of post-production workflow, covering everything from editorial and motion graphics to color finishing and platform delivery across brand films, customer stories, and recruiting content. It suits a post-production generalist with strong editorial instincts and enough motion design experience to build a visual language from scratch.

About the Role

Nox Metals is a technology and supply chain company serving aerospace and defense manufacturers, and this role owns the full post-production pipeline for all video output. Day-to-day work moves between cutting documentary-style interview footage, building technical motion graphics that explain industrial processes, and delivering platform-specific cuts for web, sales, and social channels. There is no dedicated post team yet, so this person sets the standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short- and long-form brand films and customer stories from selects through final delivery, managing all versioning and archival to professional post-production standards.
  • Design and animate motion graphics, data visualizations, maps, and diagrams that translate complex supply chain and manufacturing processes into clear on-screen storytelling.
  • Handle sound design, dialogue cleanup, music selection, and color finishing within the same post-production workflow rather than routing to outside vendors.
  • Pull the strongest narrative from raw interview footage and factory material, often working with incomplete or unscripted source content.
  • Build templates and production systems that support higher social content volume without reducing editorial quality.
  • Collaborate directly with cinematography and marketing during pre-production to shape treatments, coverage plans, and post schedules before a camera rolls.

What You Bring

  • Fluency in Premiere Pro and After Effects at a professional level, with DaVinci Resolve experience considered a strong plus for color work.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both editorial pacing and motion design, ideally across documentary, industrial, or technical subject matter.
  • Experience managing your own post-production pipeline including proxies, project organization, and multi-platform delivery specs.
  • Comfort making independent creative decisions and presenting the reasoning behind them clearly.
  • Background in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, technology, or documentary storytelling is a genuine advantage here, not a formality.

Why This Role

Nox Metals offers equity, company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a post-production scope that covers brand, recruiting, product, and social content, which is a wider creative range than most single-company staff roles. The company is early-stage and growing, which means this Video Editor / Motion Designer will shape the visual output of the brand from the ground up rather than inheriting an established system.
