Netcom Training
Netcom Training in Birmingham is offering a Videographer training course designed to get you working in professional video production. The course covers the full production workflow, from pre-production planning and on-set camera operation through to post-production finishing in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. It suits anyone looking to move into social media video production, corporate content, or branded video work at a professional level.
About the Role
This is a 16-week face-to-face course running on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Birmingham, structured around practical workshops rather than classroom theory. You will build skills across the entire video production pipeline, working with real equipment and industry-standard software from day one. The schedule runs Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm to 9.30pm and Saturdays from 9.00am to 3.30pm, making it accessible alongside other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Editing footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, applying cuts, transitions, motion graphics, and visual effects to produce finished video content.
- Recording and mixing location and studio audio to broadcast-ready standards for polished video production output.
- Working in After Effects to build advanced compositions and preparing files using appropriate codecs for multi-platform delivery.
- Setting up lighting rigs for interview, product, and cinematic shooting scenarios using professional grip and lighting equipment.
- Operating gimbals and tripods to achieve stable, controlled camera movement in a range of production environments.
- Managing client research, production budgets, and shoot timelines as part of end-to-end marketing video workflow.
What You Bring
- You are aged 19 or over and live within the West Midlands area.
- Your gross annual income is below 36,126, which is the eligibility threshold for this government-funded programme.
- You are not currently enrolled in any other government-funded training course.
- You are not in the UK on a student, graduate, postgraduate, sponsorship, or dependent visa.
- No prior video production or post-production experience is required to apply.
