Video Editor/VFX; Adobe) Internship

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is hiring a Video Editor/VFX (Adobe) Intern based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. This internship sits within the post-production workflow of a maritime entertainment company, producing on-board video content and event graphics for cruise ship audiences. It suits someone early in their editing career who has foundational Adobe Suite knowledge and wants structured mentorship in a real production environment.

About the Role

The intern works directly within the content production pipeline, contributing to edited video packages and graphic assets used for on-board entertainment and maritime event promotions. Day-to-day work spans Premiere Pro editorial, After Effects VFX work, and graphic design for live event materials. The CEO, who brings over 20 years of industry experience, provides hands-on training throughout the internship.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut and assemble video content in Premiere Pro, working toward delivery-ready sequences for on-board entertainment screening.
• Apply foundational VFX principles in After Effects to enhance video footage used across maritime event productions.
• Design graphics and promotional assets for cruise ship events, working within the visual language of each production brief.
• Participate in post-production workflow reviews with senior leadership, absorbing feedback on pacing, composition, and output standards.
• Progress from basic editing tasks to more complex composite and motion graphics work as skills develop over the course of the internship.
• Maintain organised project files and assets across Adobe Suite, supporting a clean and functional post-production pipeline.

What You Bring

• Working knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere Pro and After Effects, at a beginner to intermediate level.
• Some exposure to graphic design tools within Adobe, such as Photoshop or Illustrator, is an advantage.
• An interest in video editing for entertainment content, whether from coursework, personal projects, or short-form production work.
• Comfort taking direction and applying notes quickly within an active production schedule.
• Based in or able to work from Cape Town for the duration of the internship.

Why This Role

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. operates in a niche corner of the entertainment industry, producing content for an audience that is genuinely captive, which means the work has direct impact and real viewing numbers behind it. The mentorship structure here is more direct than most internships, with the CEO personally leading training across editing, VFX, and content creation rather than delegating it to a junior supervisor. For someone building toward a post-production career, the access to senior-level workflow knowledge from day one is a practical advantage.
