Framestore, one of the most respected VFX studios in the world, is offering the Launchpad Insights work experience placement in London for aspiring visual effects professionals aged 15 to 18. The programme places participants inside a working VFX pipeline, contributing to a real brief alongside artists and supervisors across departments including concept art and CG modelling. This is a structured entry point for young people who are seriously considering a career in visual effects, animation, or broader film and television production.

About the Role

The Launchpad Insights programme sits within Framestore’s broader talent development effort, giving participants direct access to the studio environment where feature film and commercial VFX work is actively in production. Over the course of one week, Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, participants work through a project brief with guidance from experienced professionals across the facility. The week is structured around hands-on project work, industry talks, and workshops designed to reflect how a real VFX production workflow operates day to day.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to a creative brief as part of a team, working through a project from concept to output under the guidance of Framestore artists.
• Attend workshops covering specialist areas including concept art and CG modelling, with input from working professionals in each discipline.
• Observe and participate in studio processes that reflect how visual effects are developed across feature film and television projects.
• Engage with industry talks from professionals working across the VFX pipeline, gaining direct insight into different roles and career paths.
• Build professional relationships with fellow participants and studio staff in a structured networking environment.
• Maintain full confidentiality regarding any work in progress seen during the placement, in keeping with Framestore’s client contracts.

What You Bring

• Age 15 to 18 at the time of the placement.
• No prior experience in VFX or film production is required.
• A genuine interest in visual storytelling, animation, or visual effects as a potential career direction.
• Availability for the full five-day week, specifically the 26th to 30th October 2026 cohort, which is currently open for applications.
