About the Role

You will be working within Outpost VFX’s compositing team on high-end film and episodic television productions, where the bar for photoreal integration is set by the final image on a cinema screen. Day to day, that means pulling mattes, managing colour pipelines, and refining CG renders until they sit convincingly inside a live action environment. The work requires both a technical grip on the VFX pipeline and a genuine eye for what makes a shot read as real.

Key Responsibilities

• Composite live action plates with CG renders, matte paintings, and motion graphics to produce finished VFX shots for feature film and episodic delivery.
• Maintain colour consistency across sequences by working within established ACES or show-specific colour management pipelines.
• Perform rotoscoping, keying, and paint work to a standard appropriate for theatrical and streaming distribution.
• Interpret vendor and on-set data including lens information, lighting references, and tracking markers to ground CG elements in the live action photography.
• Communicate shot status and flag technical issues to the VFX supervisor throughout the post-production workflow.
• Deliver shots to conform with client specifications, maintaining version control and organised file structures within the studio pipeline.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable compositing credits on feature film or high-end episodic television productions.
• Proficiency in Nuke, including node-based compositing, 3D projection, and deep compositing workflows.
• A solid understanding of CG lighting, rendering passes, and how to manage multi-layer EXR files within a production environment.
• Experience working within a structured VFX pipeline alongside lighters, CG artists, and a VFX supervisor.
• Attention to detail at the pixel level and the ability to self-review shots against reference before submission.
