Finance Director – Mikros Animation

Mikros Animation is hiring a Finance Director to join their Montreal studio, reporting into the Rodeo FX Group CFO. About the Role

The Finance Director at Mikros Animation works directly alongside the Studio President and group CFO, serving as the financial lead across a slate of international animation productions. Day to day, that means partnering with commercial and production teams on bids, tracking margins against budgets, and keeping a clear view of cash flow across active projects. The studio is in a growth phase, and this person is expected to build financial visibility that can support larger-scale animation production commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary financial partner to the Studio President and management team, providing analysis that directly informs production and business decisions.
• Support the bid and proposal process for new animation productions, evaluating profitability assumptions, cost structures, and project risk before commitments are made.
• Lead budget planning and continuous forecasting cycles, with direct accountability for monitoring variances and recommending corrective action.
• Oversee all accounting operations for Mikros Animation, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations applicable in Canada and across international co-productions.
• Manage treasury and liquidity planning across short, medium, and long-term horizons in line with the studio’s production pipeline.
• Collaborate with Rodeo FX Group finance teams to align reporting standards, systems, and processes across the broader group structure.

What You Bring

• 10 or more years of senior finance experience, ideally within an animation studio, VFX pipeline environment, or broader film and television production context.
• Demonstrated experience leading budget and forecasting processes across multi-project production slates.
• Fluency in project-level profitability analysis, including cost-to-complete modeling and margin tracking on episodic or feature animation productions.
• CPA designation or equivalent, with a working knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax compliance.
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset given the Montreal studio context and international co-production relationships.
