Sr. Technical Program Manager, AI Studios
- Full Time
- Culver City, CA, USA
Amazon MGM Studios
Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Sr. Technical Program Manager, AI Studios in Culver City, CA. This role sits at the center of live action and VFX production capability development for Nara, an AI-native production platform being built to serve the studio’s film and television slate. It suits a technically fluent program manager who has worked across engineering, applied science, and creative production teams and knows how to keep complex, multi-track programs moving under real production pressure.
About the Role
The AI Studios team operates inside Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios as a dedicated unit building production tooling for cinematic animation, live action, and VFX workflows. The Sr. Technical Program Manager, AI Studios owns end-to-end delivery for the live action and VFX production vertical, coordinating across engineering, applied science, product, and creative partners including directors, VFX supervisors, and production managers. A typical week involves translating production requirements into technical execution plans, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving release readiness decisions before capabilities reach creative teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own program delivery for live action and VFX pipeline capabilities, defining milestones, sequencing dependencies, and making scope trade-offs to protect the critical path against production milestone dates.
- Partner with engineering and applied science leads to evaluate AI/ML pipeline architecture, model integration approaches, and media processing service decisions that balance production timelines with platform durability.
- Interface directly with VFX supervisors, directors, producers, and production managers to translate on-set and post-production workflow requirements into platform investment priorities.
- Author program narratives, decision documents, and status mechanisms for senior leadership across Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, framing trade-offs clearly for executive audiences.
- Define and track success metrics tied to creator adoption, production throughput, and platform reliability, reporting through formal business review mechanisms.
- Design and operate intake, triage, and roadmap tracking mechanisms that scale the organization as production concurrency increases across the studio’s slate.
What You Bring
- Significant experience as a technical program manager working across engineering, applied science, and product teams on AI/ML or media processing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional programs within episodic television or feature film production environments.
- Familiarity with VFX pipeline architecture, post-production workflow, or creator-facing tooling development.
- Track record of influencing engineering investment and org-level prioritization decisions at a senior leadership level.
- Strong written communication skills with experience producing executive-facing documents and program status mechanisms.
Why This Role
