About the Role

The Pirate Actor & Brand Ambassador operates in the live entertainment and experiential marketing space, functioning as the primary character performer for Treasure Hunt the Ride on location along Cannery Row. A typical shift involves suiting up in full pirate costume, working a designated stretch of street with props and signage, and using improv and character performance techniques to build crowds and direct guests to the ticket counter. This is active, outdoor, physical performance work with a direct sales component tied to daily attendance numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in full pirate costume along Cannery Row, using props, banners, and character work to draw foot traffic to the attraction.
• Deliver improvised guest interactions tailored to families, groups, and individual passersby to generate interest in the ride experience.
• Communicate the Treasure Hunt the Ride story and experience clearly and with consistent character integrity across all guest interactions.
• Guide engaged guests directly to the ticket counter, functioning as the front line of the attraction’s street-level sales effort.
• Work within an ensemble cast to build a coordinated, immersive street performance atmosphere around the Cannery Row location.
• Track and report daily interaction volume and sales impact as part of ongoing performance measurement for DWL Amusements LLC.

What You Bring

• Background in character performance, street performance, theatrical improv, or guest-facing entertainment work.
• Comfort approaching and engaging strangers in a high-volume outdoor public environment.
• Strong storytelling and vocal performance skills, with the ability to hold a character for an extended shift.
• Physical stamina for prolonged standing and walking outdoors across varying weather conditions.
• Must be 18 or older. Experience in sales or hospitality is a plus.
