Job Type
Netflix is hiring a Specialist, Physical Assets within their Production Services division, based in Los Angeles, California. This role sits inside the Physical Assets team and focuses on tracking creative assets, props, costumes, and set pieces through every phase of the production life-cycle, from initial purchase or manufacture through archival preservation and promotional reuse. It is a strong fit for a production office or on-set veteran who understands how physical assets move through episodic television and feature film production and wants to work at the studio level managing that system across multiple titles.
About the Role
The Physical Assets team within Netflix Production Services manages how physical creative assets are tracked, stored, loaned, and ultimately archived or liquidated across the UCAN region, covering productions in the USA and Canada. This person works across all production phases, prep through final strike, coordinating with freelance crew, vendors, logistics teams, and internal Netflix partners in Marketing, Publicity, and Archive. A typical day might include auditing continuity tracking documents, onboarding a new show crew to asset management software, or pulling and packaging items from third-party storage for a promotional campaign.
Key Responsibilities
- Support UCAN productions across all phases of the production workflow, from prep and active shoot through post-production wrap and final strike.
- Coordinate with vendors, logistics teams, and on-set crew to manage the reuse, liquidation, disposal, and shipment of physical creative assets.
- Onboard freelance production crews to asset and continuity tracking documents and software, including scheduling training sessions and providing ongoing day-to-day support.
- Audit tracking documents and data management tools to maintain data integrity and ensure all deliverables are ready for ingestion into the global asset database.
- Facilitate asset loans to Marketing and Publicity teams for promotional use around theatrical or streaming launches.
- Pull, package, and document physical assets from the Netflix Archive and third-party storage facilities in coordination with the internal Archive team.
What You Bring
- Five or more years of hands-on studio, production office, or on-set experience in feature film or episodic television production.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, specifically Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Mail, plus the ability to learn new asset management platforms quickly.
- Familiarity with Airtable, Sync On Set, FileMaker Pro, Slack, or Asset Hub is a genuine advantage, though not required.
- Comfort working in warehouse environments, including following safety procedures and the ability to lift approximately 30 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills applied to complex, multi-source information across simultaneous productions.
Why This Role
Netflix operates one of the largest studio production slates in the world, which means the Physical Assets team manages asset workflows at a scale and complexity few other studios can match. The compensation range for the Specialist, Physical Assets role is $108,000 to $185,000 annually, with a structure that allows employees to split their compensation between salary and stock options each year, plus comprehensive health, mental health, and retirement benefits.
