Job Position(s): Videographer for street interviews
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Lead Ready, an advertising agency based in Sydney City, NSW, is hiring a Videographer for street interviews to produce short-form social media content. This role sits within the agency’s content production arm, responsible for capturing candid video interviews with members of the public that feed directly into social media advertising campaigns. It suits a self-directed shooter who is comfortable working in run-and-gun conditions and understands how short-form video content performs across social platforms.

About the Role

This is a solo field production role where you will be the operator, the interviewer, and the on-camera presence, all in one. Day-to-day, that means heading out into Sydney City, approaching members of the public, and capturing interview footage that is ready to drop into a social media production workflow. The output is short-form video built for advertising use, so an instinct for what cuts well and plays on social platforms is central to the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a camera in uncontrolled street environments, managing exposure, framing, and audio without a dedicated crew.
  • Conduct on-camera interviews with members of the public, drawing out natural and usable responses within a short shooting window.
  • Self-direct each shoot, making real-time decisions about location, angle, and pacing to suit short-form social media formats.
  • Manage your own production schedule, setting shoot times that maximise public availability and location access across Sydney City.
  • Deliver footage that meets the brief from Lead Ready’s creative team without requiring significant post-production repair.
  • Maintain a consistent on-camera presence that reflects the tone and audience of each social media advertising campaign.

What You Bring

  • You are over 18 and a fluent English speaker comfortable conducting interviews in public settings.
  • Prior experience shooting short-form social media video, whether from professional credits or a personal content background, is preferred but not required.
  • A natural on-camera presence and the confidence to approach strangers and get genuine responses on the first take.
  • Familiarity with the technical basics of run-and-gun field production, including handheld operation and location audio.

Why This Role

Lead Ready is an advertising agency with a direct need for original social media content, which means the footage you shoot has a clear and immediate end use rather than sitting in a development pipeline. Working as the sole Videographer for street interviews gives you full ownership of the production process from setup to delivery. For someone building a reel in short-form social media production, the volume of real-world shooting this role offers is hard to replicate elsewhere.

Apply now for the Videographer for street interviews role with David Cutts at Lead Ready in Sydney City, and include any prior social media work you want the team to consider.
