Job Position(s): Video Editor
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Hyre is hiring a full-time Video Editor to work 100% remotely from anywhere. This role sits squarely in the post-production workflow, responsible for taking raw footage through to polished, platform-ready deliverables across social, promotional, and digital ad formats for external clients. It’s a good fit for an editor who’s comfortable working to strict client briefs and turning around clean cuts quickly without a lot of hand-holding.

About the Role

You’ll be embedded in Hyre’s creative and project management operation, supporting a client-facing post-production pipeline that spans short-form and long-form content. The work involves brand-aligned storytelling across multiple deliverable formats, with revision cycles, asset organization, and deadline management as regular parts of the day. Fixed US business hours apply, and weekend availability may be required when client deadlines are tight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut raw footage into final client deliverables, integrating transitions, motion graphics, subtitles, and sound design to meet brand-specific style guides.
  • Format and export content for multiple platforms and aspect ratios, including 1:1, 16:9, and 9:16, depending on distribution requirements.
  • Manage version tracking, raw assets, and project files across Google Drive and Dropbox to keep the post-production pipeline organized across simultaneous projects.
  • Turn around client revision requests efficiently while holding quality standards consistent across each edit.
  • Coordinate with the creative and project management teams through Slack and Notion to track tasks, flag bottlenecks, and hit delivery windows.
  • Maintain a dedicated, noise-free home office with reliable high-speed internet and a backup power source to support uninterrupted remote production work.

What You Bring

  • At least one to two years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates social content, promos, or ad creatives.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro as your primary editing tool.
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects is a plus, particularly for motion graphics work within a post-production workflow.
  • Prior experience in an agency environment or client-facing production role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage multiple edits in parallel under fixed schedules.

Why This Role

Hyre offers performance-based raises, annual cost-of-living adjustments at your one-year mark, and a minimum of five days off annually. The role gives a working editor consistent volume across varied digital production formats, which builds range without requiring relocation or on-set availability. For someone who wants steady remote post-production work with real client output, this is a grounded option.
