- Full Time
- Burbank, CA, USA
Disney
Disney is hiring a Vice President, Production (Disney Entertainment Television) based in Burbank, CA, to lead production oversight across the Disney Kids and Family movie slate. This role sits within Disney Entertainment Television and is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of feature film productions made for Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, and Disney XD. It suits a senior production executive with deep experience across multinational feature film production, including both live-action and animated features.
About the Role
The Vice President, Production (Disney Entertainment Television) works within the Disney Kids and Family unit, overseeing a broad slate of movies produced for streaming and linear platforms. Day-to-day work spans budget creation and cost report analysis, third-party studio oversight, post-production workflow management, and cross-departmental coordination from development through final delivery. This person functions as the central production authority across internal and external projects, keeping creative, finance, and producing teams aligned on schedules and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee third-party studio productions end-to-end, actively managing schedules, budgets up to $85M, and cost reports to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- For internally assigned movie projects, build production plans and initial budgets before producer selection, then carry those projects from development through greenlight, physical production, and post-production delivery.
- Manage post-production scheduling across VFX timelines, color, sound mix, and marketing materials including trailers and EPK assets.
- Supervise an internal estimator across multiple budget iterations, overseeing crew rates, production incentive tagging, charge-off tracking, and billing systems for overall producer deals and long-term facility leases.
- Maintain current knowledge of domestic and international production incentives, including application deadlines and eligibility requirements, to advise on location decisions for distant productions.
- Draft and distribute film planning documents, development schedules, and production countdowns to keep all stakeholders informed and ahead of potential schedule conflicts.
What You Bring
- 10 or more years in media production with significant credits in domestic feature film production, including budget and schedule management at a senior level.
- Hands-on experience managing feature film budgets up to $85M across both live-action and animated features, including foreign co-productions.
- 5 or more years in production accounting is preferred, with working knowledge of cost report analysis and incentive structures.
- Familiarity with DGA and SAG-AFTRA theatrical agreements and how they apply to made-for-streaming feature productions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple feature film productions simultaneously without losing detail at the budget or schedule level.
- Experience working within established franchise IP, with an understanding of brand and creative continuity requirements across sequels and spinoffs.
Why This Role
Disney Entertainment Television operates one of the largest kids and family content pipelines in the industry, with productions spanning multiple continents and platforms, giving this VP direct exposure to a scale of feature film production that few studios can match. The role carries real authority across both internal productions and third-party studio relationships, making it a genuine seat at the table rather than a support function. Disney’s commitment to confidentiality, production quality, and franchise stewardship means this position demands and develops executive-level production judgment.
