Job Type
Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring a Trainee, Acquisitions and Digital Content Programming for its Content Strategy team based in Miami, Florida. This role sits inside the Latin American and US Hispanic digital portfolio, supporting the day-to-day operations of streaming platform programming and FAST channel content across SPT Networks in LATAM and Brazil. It suits an emerging professional with a grounding in content strategy, entertainment rights, or digital media who wants real acquisition and programming workflow experience at a major studio.
About the Role
The Trainee, Acquisitions and Digital Content Programming reports to the Content Strategy and Acquisitions Director and works directly alongside the Digital and FAST Content Planning Supervisor. On any given day this person is moving between screening and evaluating content for acquisition, building out programming schedules for streaming platforms, and keeping rights trackers and delivery documentation in order. The work touches the full content lifecycle, from acquisition evaluation through to metadata management and launch readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate films, series, and formats under consideration for acquisition or co-production, preparing written recommendations and audience appeal assessments for the acquisitions team.
- Build and maintain programming calendars, content inventories, and scheduling presentations across streaming platforms and FAST channels in the Latin American digital portfolio.
- Support acquisition administration including purchase orders, payment tracking, deal documentation, and deadline management across internal content onboarding workflows.
- Create content summaries, screening evaluations, and presentation materials in both English and Spanish for distribution across departments.
- Manage content metadata within programming systems, including episode details, synopses, artwork, translations, and promotional assets to ensure libraries are launch-ready.
- Monitor rights availability and content publishing accuracy across the US Hispanic and Latin American streaming media landscape.
What You Bring
- Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken, is required for this role.
- At least one year of internship or work experience in an administrative, coordination, or operational capacity, with entertainment industry experience preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with the Latin American broadcast, cable, and streaming media landscape, including FAST channel distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain accurate records, and see projects through to completion without close supervision.
Why This Role
Sony Pictures Entertainment runs one of the most active content acquisition and digital programming operations targeting Latin American and US Hispanic audiences, giving a trainee genuine exposure to episodic television acquisitions, streaming platform strategy, and international content rights at scale. This is a paid, full-time trainee position running from January 4 or 11, 2027 through December 17, 2027, with an application deadline of October 15, 2026. For someone looking to build a real foundation in content strategy and streaming media, the scope of the LATAM portfolio here is hard to match.
Apply now for the Trainee, Acquisitions and Digital Content Programming position at Sony Pictures Entertainment and get your application in before the October 15, 2026 deadline.
