VFX artist
- Full Time
- Richmond, BC, Canada
33VISION
33VISION is hiring a VFX artist based out of Richmond, BC. This role sits within the visual effects pipeline, responsible for producing composited and rendered elements that integrate cleanly into final picture deliverables. It suits a practitioner who has hands-on experience moving shots through a production VFX workflow and understands the technical demands of working to picture lock timelines.
About the Role
The VFX artist at 33VISION works within a post-production environment focused on delivering polished visual effects across the company’s project slate. A typical day involves pulling plates, working through shot assignments, and refining elements in coordination with supervisory review cycles. The role is on-site in Richmond and is structured around production deadlines with one vacancy currently available.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute shot-level VFX work across assigned sequences, maintaining technical specs set by the VFX supervisor throughout the production pipeline.
- Composite live-action and CG elements together using industry-standard tools, ensuring colour, grain, and motion characteristics match the surrounding footage.
- Manage and track individual shot progress through internal review stages, flagging technical issues before they reach downstream departments.
- Interpret editorial and supervisor notes accurately and turn around revisions within production schedule constraints.
- Maintain clean file and project organization consistent with the studio’s VFX pipeline conventions and naming protocols.
- Contribute to pre-production VFX breakdowns when required, helping estimate shot complexity and resource needs.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience as a VFX artist on film, television, or commercial productions with a portfolio of completed shot work.
- Proficiency in compositing software and familiarity with a professional VFX pipeline from brief through final delivery.
- Working knowledge of colour science, green screen keying, rotoscoping, and motion tracking techniques.
- Ability to read and action notes from VFX supervision clearly and without ambiguity.
- Fluency in Chinese is required for this position, as noted in the original posting.
Why This Role
33VISION is a Richmond-based production company offering on-site VFX work with direct access to the full production workflow rather than isolated freelance assignments. The position starts as soon as possible, with a rate of $18.50 per hour. For a VFX artist looking to build credits within a structured studio environment in British Columbia’s active production market, this is a grounded, practical opportunity.
