Vancouver Actors Guide is casting The Corporate Bug, a character role for an independent film production based in Vancouver, BC. This is an on-camera acting position within the talent department, with the performer contributing directly to scripted narrative output across scheduled production days. The role suits an actor with a range for character work who is comfortable building a defined persona from a written brief.

About the Role

The Corporate Bug sits within the cast ensemble on a project developed through Vancouver Film School’s production pipeline, giving the selected actor experience working within a structured student and emerging filmmaker production workflow. Production days follow a standard scripted film shoot schedule, with the actor expected to arrive prepared and work efficiently within a tight indie film production context. This is the kind of short film credit that builds a reel and establishes working relationships in the Vancouver acting community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inhabit The Corporate Bug character across all scheduled production days as directed by the production’s director and first assistant director.
  • Attend any required rehearsals or table reads ahead of principal photography to develop character continuity.
  • Take direction from the production team and adapt performance choices within the scripted scenes assigned to this role.
  • Maintain costume and character consistency across takes and shooting days to support the continuity department.
  • Collaborate directly with the camera and lighting teams during blocking and technical rehearsals to hit marks accurately.
  • Deliver performance within the constraints of an independent film production schedule, where efficiency on set directly affects the day.

What You Bring

  • A current acting CV reflecting relevant screen or stage credits in the Vancouver market.
  • A demo reel that demonstrates your on-camera range and character work.
  • Comfort working on non-union independent and short film productions.
  • Strong script analysis skills and the ability to build a character from limited pre-production time.
  • Reliability on set, including punctuality and professional conduct across a multi-day shoot.

Why This Role

Vancouver Actors Guide is the established free resource for the Vancouver acting community, and this production comes through a network with direct ties to emerging local filmmakers. This role is unpaid, with a lunch contribution of ten dollars per production day provided via e-transfer. For actors building short film credits or looking to expand their character work reel in Vancouver, The Corporate Bug is a practical on-set opportunity with a known community presence behind it.

Submit your CV, demo reel, and the character you are applying for to Vancouver Actors Guide to be considered for The Corporate Bug.
