Team Lead, VFx & Motion Graphics

About the Role

The Team Lead, VFX & Motion Graphics oversees a dedicated internal team handling VFX and motion graphics across So Drama Entertainment’s production slate, coordinating directly with editors, producers, and post-production management throughout the post-production workflow. Day to day, this person is tracking multiple concurrent projects, reviewing deliverables for broadcast compliance, managing vendor relationships for overflow work, and keeping the team’s tools, software, and asset libraries production-ready. They are the through line from the first graphics brief to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and schedule an internal team of VFX artists and motion graphics designers across concurrent episodic and short-form projects.
• Own the VFX pipeline from initial creative brief through QC and broadcast delivery, maintaining quality standards at every stage of the post-production workflow.
• Provide motion graphics and VFX timelines and cost estimates to production management for accurate budgeting across the project slate.
• Source and manage external vendors or freelance specialists for overflow or highly specialized VFX work when internal capacity is at limit.
• Oversee style guides, font libraries, and asset archives to ensure consistency and accessibility across all productions.
• Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools within the motion graphics and VFX workflow to reduce repetitive tasks and improve delivery speed without compromising creative output.

What You Bring

• At least five years of hands-on experience in VFX production, motion graphics, and animation, with demonstrable team leadership credits.
• A strong portfolio showing motion graphics and VFX work delivered to broadcast quality standards.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools including After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Autodesk 3ds Max.
• Extensive working experience with Unreal Engine, with virtual production and LED volume experience considered a real advantage.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects, or a related field, or equivalent production experience.
