Sports Producer

FOX Entertainment is hiring a Sports Producer at its Atlanta, Georgia station, one of 29 full power broadcast television stations operated by FOX Television Stations across the country. This role sits inside the sports department and is responsible for producing live sportscasts, line-producing long-form studio shows, and generating field content across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. It suits a sports journalist who is equally comfortable in a live control room and standing on a sideline with a camera in hand.

About the Role

This is a per diem position embedded in the daily sports production workflow of a top 10 broadcast television market, where coverage spans professional and collegiate teams at the highest level. On any given shift, this Sports Producer may write and produce a studio sportscast, edit highlight packages on deadline, and then host an unscripted live stream from a major venue. The role requires someone who can move between producing, shooting, editing, and on-camera delivery without losing accuracy or pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Line-produce live sports studio programs and daily sportscasts, writing conversational broadcast copy and coordinating graphic elements throughout the show.
• Shoot, edit, and feed video independently from remote locations, including game coverage and breaking local sports stories.
• Conduct on-camera interviews with athletes and coaches and cut finished feature packages for both broadcast television and digital distribution.
• Present extended unscripted live coverage from the field using mobile journalism gear and report live from press conferences at major sports venues.
• Develop enterprise sports stories using local and national contacts and contribute angles to daily editorial planning within the sports department.
• Write and optimize text content for digital platforms and social media channels to extend broadcast sports coverage across all distribution points.

What You Bring

• A minimum of two years producing or reporting sports for a commercial television station or regional sports network is preferred.
• Proven ability to shoot, edit, and transmit video from remote locations without supervision, across file-based workflow systems.
• A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
• FAA Part 107 drone certification is a strong plus for field production assignments.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a passport for international travel assignments.
