This role sits inside a brand studio being built from the ground up, producing social-native video content across YouTube, LinkedIn, Shorts, and Reels, covering everything from long-form brand films to short-form platform cuts. It suits an editor-shooter hybrid who owns the full post-production workflow and understands how format shapes the story before the camera rolls.

About the Role

The Social Video Editor, Brand Studio works directly within Castelion’s in-house content operation, producing video that puts a defense company’s work in front of general and professional audiences in a way the industry rarely attempts. Day to day, this means moving between the edit bay and production environments like manufacturing floors and field test sites, then returning to handle color, sound design, motion graphics, and platform-specific delivery. The person in this seat owns the full post-production workflow from assembly cut to final export, across multiple aspect ratios and formats simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form brand films and short-form social content from assembly through final delivery, including color grading, sound design, and motion graphics built to each platform’s technical specs.
• Produce native format variants in both 9:16 and 16:9, building distinct cuts for YouTube, Shorts, LinkedIn, and X rather than simply resizing a single master.
• Provide camera and capture support on location shoots at manufacturing facilities and field test sites, contributing to pre-production planning alongside the Senior Producer.
• Write to picture when required, including captions, on-screen text, and scripted narration that meet the accuracy standards the subject matter demands.
• Use platform analytics to evaluate content performance and apply those findings to the next round of production decisions.
• Translate technically complex subject matter into visual stories that hold up to review by engineering teams and remain accessible to a broad public audience.

What You Bring

• Five or more years of video production experience spanning both shooting and editing across social formats and varied production scales.
• A portfolio with public links demonstrating craft across short-form social video production and at least one longer format.
• Fluency in professional non-linear editing software and comfort with AI-assisted post-production tools where they serve the work.
• Demonstrated experience producing content natively for vertical and horizontal social formats, not adapted from broadcast or traditional video workflows.
• Comfort working in non-studio production environments, including industrial or field locations, and adapting capture approach accordingly.
