Job Position(s): Social Media Videographer / Editor
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

The Local Project is hiring a Social Media Videographer / Editor based in Alexandria, Sydney, to join their in-house content production team. This role sits across social video production and post-production, responsible for developing, shooting, and editing short-form content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as cutting assets for commercial partner campaigns. It suits a self-directed content creator with a strong post-production workflow background and a genuine interest in design and architecture storytelling.

About the Role

The Social Media Videographer / Editor works within The Local Project’s digital and production teams, contributing to both the brand’s own social channels and client-facing campaign deliverables. Day-to-day work moves between on-location shooting, editing suites, and the publishing calendar, with direct involvement in special projects led by the CEO and Founder. The role requires someone comfortable managing end-to-end short-form video production without needing heavy direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, shoot, and edit short-form social video content formatted to platform specifications across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Cut long-form video into punchy, platform-ready clips that retain pacing and narrative clarity through strong post-production editing judgment.
  • Capture on-location and behind-the-scenes footage for social-first content creation, including architecture and design subject matter.
  • Add captions, motion graphics, and overlays, then export in required delivery formats for each channel.
  • Contribute to the weekly publishing calendar, hitting content deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Work directly with the CEO and Founder to film and edit special projects that support his personal brand presence alongside The Local Project channels.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of two years editing and producing video content, including work delivered for external clients or commercial partners.
  • Hands-on experience with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or comparable non-linear editing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain consistent visual tone, pacing, and brand standards across a social content production slate.
  • Practical knowledge of platform-specific delivery formats and current trends across short-form video.
  • Comfort working with senior stakeholders and clients throughout the production process, not just at handover.

Why This Role

The Local Project is a well-regarded media brand in the architecture and design space, with an established audience across social and digital channels and a growing commercial partner portfolio. This is a full-time, in-house position that puts a Social Media Videographer / Editor at the centre of both editorial and branded content production, with direct access to senior leadership and real influence over how stories are told on screen.

Apply now for the Social Media Videographer / Editor role at The Local Project and bring your short-form production skills to a team building something worth watching.
