Social Content Videographer

Blitzed is hiring a Social Content Videographer based in Newcastle upon Tyne to work on an upcoming series of unscripted, public-facing short-form content. This role sits outside traditional production departments, operating as a one or two person crew capturing spontaneous real-world footage destined for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and X. It suits a shooter who has come up through creator content, street interviews, or grassroots social video rather than a conventional broadcast or corporate background.

About the Role

You will be working directly alongside a presenter in public environments, functioning as the sole camera operator responsible for picture, audio and POV capture across a short-form content series. There is no traditional production crew structure here, so your ability to read a moment and react before it passes is the core of the job. A typical shoot day involves moving through unpredictable locations, capturing genuine interactions, and identifying content opportunities as they happen rather than following a script.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate camera, audio and POV equipment across unscripted shoots in busy public locations throughout the Newcastle area.
• Capture presenter-led interactions and organic public reactions in a way that translates directly to short-form social video formats.
• Identify and anticipate strong content moments in real time, without the safety net of multiple takes or controlled environments.
• Manage your own technical setup efficiently on location, covering camera, sound and any rigged POV angles without additional crew support.
• Engage with members of the public on camera when the shoot requires it, contributing energy and presence rather than staying invisible behind the lens.
• Deliver footage that is cut for social media production pipelines, understanding aspect ratios, pacing and format requirements for each platform.

What You Bring

• A portfolio of self-shot unscripted content, including street interviews, creator videos, comedy, nightlife or sports footage.
• Hands-on experience operating camera and location audio rigs in unpredictable, run-and-gun shooting conditions.
• A genuine understanding of internet culture and what makes short-form social content actually perform on platform.
• Comfort working without direction on set, making autonomous creative calls in real time.
• Technical competence across camera and audio without prioritising cinematic production values over content instinct.
