About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Production reports to the EVP of Production at SPT Nonfiction and serves as the senior production authority across all assigned series in the division. Day to day, that means reviewing cost reports, working through production modifications with EPs and showrunners, evaluating international tax incentives, and escalating material financial issues to divisional leadership. The productions in this portfolio span studio and location shoots, multicamera formats, and international productions, so the operational range here is substantial.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee concurrent unscripted television productions from development budgeting and preproduction through physical production, post-production, and final delivery, ensuring each stays on schedule and within approved parameters.
• Direct budget development and evaluation across new series, returning productions, and development projects, partnering with Production Finance and Production Accounting to monitor cost reports, forecasts, and estimated final costs.
• Identify financial risks and budget variances early, recommend corrective actions, and communicate material issues to divisional leadership before they become production problems.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise senior production personnel including Executives in Charge of Production and Line Producers, setting clear performance expectations around schedules, compliance, and delivery.
• Evaluate the financial and operational impact of creative changes, staffing decisions, and production modifications on large-scale competition formats and multicamera productions.
• Support production economics through vendor management, contract negotiations, and assessment of domestic and international tax incentive opportunities across the full unscripted slate.

What You Bring

• Extensive hands-on experience in unscripted television production, with credits spanning competition formats, reality series, or game shows at the network or streaming level.
• Demonstrated executive leadership over production management teams, including direct supervision of Line Producers and EPs across multiple concurrent productions.
• Sophisticated financial judgment developed through years of managing production budgets, reading cost reports, and negotiating vendor and crew contracts.
• Experience with international co-productions and familiarity with evaluating domestic and international production tax incentives.
• A track record of managing complex multicamera and large-scale location productions with contestant or participant logistics.
