Job Type
ESPN Productions, Inc. is hiring an ESPN Post Edit Intern for their Bristol, Connecticut facility for Spring 2027. This role sits inside ESPN’s Post Edit department, where the intern contributes directly to non-linear editing across studio and event productions, spanning short and long-form features, highlights, animation, and marketing content. It’s a strong fit for an upper-level film or media student who already has hands-on experience in post-production workflow and wants to see how that translates inside a major sports broadcast operation.
About the Role
The Post Edit team at ESPN Productions, Inc. functions as a full creative post house within the network, producing content across digital, on-air, and ad sales verticals. Day to day, the ESPN Post Edit Intern works alongside editors and producers inside Creative Studio Post, learning editorial standards while contributing to real deliverables on a live production schedule. The internship runs approximately January through May 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut and refine sports content using non-linear editing software within a broadcast post-production workflow, supporting both studio and live event productions.
- Assist editors across multiple concurrent projects, managing shifting priorities and delivering polished cuts on quick-turnaround deadlines.
- Learn and apply Creative Studio Post editorial standards, including versioning, naming conventions, and delivery specifications used across ESPN platforms.
- Operate and develop familiarity with broadcast editing equipment and the technical infrastructure specific to a sports television environment.
- Coordinate on cross-functional projects with producers, production assistants, and other creative partners to move content from assembly to final delivery.
- Track project status and manage editorial assets using Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Word, and Excel.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated editing experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, with a portfolio or reel that shows real cuts.
- Senior-year standing preferred, with a major or coursework in film, media production, broadcasting, or a related field.
- Previous experience in post-production editing, whether through academic projects, campus media, freelance work, or a prior internship.
- Proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft 365 as used in a production office environment.
- Working knowledge of major professional and collegiate sports, including teams, athletes, leagues, and current storylines, is a genuine advantage here.
Why This Role
ESPN is one of the few places where an intern in post-production editing works inside a functioning broadcast pipeline rather than running errands adjacent to one. The scope of content the Post Edit team produces, from highlights to long-form features to marketing spots, gives a real view of how episodic sports television and digital content are made at scale. For anyone building toward a career in broadcast or sports post-production, the network access and workflow exposure here are hard to replicate elsewhere.
Apply now for the ESPN Post Edit Intern position with ESPN Productions, Inc. and bring your editorial skills into one of the most active post-production environments in sports broadcasting.
