Senior Costumer

Disney is hiring a Senior Costumer for its Live Entertainment division in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This role sits within the Costume Production and Sustainment team, taking original costume designs from initial concept through fabrication and into active show performance across theme parks, resort hotels, and cruise ship productions. About the Role

The Senior Costumer reports to the Manager of Costume Production and Sustainment and works across the full entertainment costume production workflow, from sourcing fabrics and trims to coordinating fittings and managing vendor relationships. Day to day, this person is interfacing with Show Producers, Directors, and Designers while also mentoring hourly union cast members through their show responsibilities. The breadth of productions here spans live stage entertainment, character costuming, and large-scale spectacular events seen across Disney’s global properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to maintain the integrity of costume design through the active performance run.
• Develop production estimates, manage timelines, and maintain budgets across new and replacement costume builds.
• Work directly with Designers to source fabrics, trims, and garment accessories, factoring in climate, performer safety, and show functionality.
• Document costume production processes and costume history in multiple formats for continuity and quality analysis.
• Source new vendors for materials and finished goods, attending trade shows to stay current with costume manufacturing methods.
• Guide and mentor hourly union cast members, coaching them through show responsibilities and supporting their professional development.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in costuming within theatre, film production, or fashion.
• At least 2 years working directly with garment construction and textiles at a professional level.
• Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of larger scale costume or theatrical production projects.
• Experience in costume documentation, apparel purchasing, and budget development and maintenance.
• Familiarity with PLM and purchasing software is preferred, as is prior experience in character costuming.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an advanced degree in Costume Design, Textiles, Theatre, or Fashion Design preferred.
