Job Position(s): Scare Actor and Support Crew
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $12 - $16/hr

Scare Tulsa is hiring Scare Actors and Support Crew for its haunted attraction season in Tulsa, OK. This is a live performance role working across three distinct attractions, a haunted trail, a haunted maze, and a zombie paintball experience, where cast members build and sustain character-driven scares for paying guests each night. It suits performers and crew who thrive in outdoor, physical, character-based work and want a focused seasonal engagement with real performance hours on their resume.

About the Role

Scare Actors and Support Crew operate across the full guest-facing production at Scare Tulsa, which runs a condensed six-night season across three October weekends. Each performance night runs from 6:30 to 11:00 PM, with actors stationed throughout outdoor trail environments, enclosed maze scenes, and interactive zones that require sustained character commitment from open to close. This is live entertainment production work, and the throughput of guests each night demands consistent timing, physical presence, and scene awareness across the full run.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a scare character or assigned persona across one or more attraction zones, including the haunted trail, haunted maze, and zombie paintball experience.
  • Maintain character consistency and scene integrity throughout each performance night, adjusting timing and placement based on guest flow.
  • Work outdoor night environments for the full shift duration, including wooded terrain and enclosed set pieces that require physical stamina.
  • Coordinate positioning and scare beats with adjacent cast members to avoid dead zones and keep the guest experience active across all areas.
  • Arrive with or develop a workable character concept, including costume, makeup, mask, or physical persona that fits the attraction’s themed environments.
  • Support general crew operations as needed, including scene upkeep and position coverage across attraction changeovers.

What You Bring

  • No formal acting credits required, though experience in haunted attractions, live entertainment, cosplay performance, or theatrical character work is a plus.
  • A developed scare character, original costume, or performance persona is strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Physical comfort working outside at night across uneven terrain for multi-hour shifts.
  • Reliability for all scheduled performance nights: October 16 and 17, October 23 and 24, and October 30 and 31.
  • Energy and awareness appropriate to high-volume live audience work where guest interaction is constant.

Why This Role

Scare Tulsa runs one of Tulsa’s established outdoor haunted attractions, offering performers genuine live entertainment production experience within a structured seasonal format. Compensation runs $12.00 to $16.00 per hour depending on role and experience, which is competitive for regional live performance and seasonal character work. The condensed schedule makes this a realistic commitment for anyone balancing other production work or day jobs through the fall.

Apply now for the Scare Actor and Support Crew role at Scare Tulsa and bring your character to one of Tulsa’s premier haunted attractions this October.
