Job Type
Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring a Relocation Manager at its studio lot in Culver City, California. This role owns the full scope of physical space transitions across the lot, directing crew logistics, furniture inventory coordination, and move execution that keeps production offices, editorial suites, and administrative departments operational. It suits a facilities or studio operations professional who has managed union labor, handled capital project support, and understands how physical workspace directly affects studio production workflow.
About the Role
The Relocation Manager sits within the Facilities and Studio Operations group, supporting everything from production office setups and strikes to large-scale capital project relocations on the Sony Pictures lot. A typical day involves coordinating with internal clients across film and television divisions, scheduling Union Local 724 crew, tracking move costs, and aligning relocation timelines with construction and space planning schedules. This is a hands-on management role that requires equal comfort in the field with a crew and in a room with senior facilities leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day relocation operations across the studio lot, managing Union Local 724 crew through the Relocation Foreman and ensuring crew size and scheduling align with active production and corporate demand.
- Serve as the primary client contact for internal relocation services, setting clear expectations for delivery timelines, cost tracking, and service quality across film and television production offices and studio departments.
- Manage the Furniture Inventory and Logistics Foreperson, maintaining coordination between inventory strategy and active move operations to reduce redundant effort and improve service delivery.
- Drive planning and execution of production office setups, event builds, and strike work, developing cost quotes, tracking billable work, and managing billing as required.
- Act as a consulted contributor on capital projects, partnering with project teams to develop relocation cost estimates, process change orders, and align move activity with construction schedules.
- Build and manage the annual Relocation Maintenance and Repair operational budget, monitoring spend and providing cost updates to stakeholders throughout the fiscal year.
What You Bring
- Several years of facilities or studio operations management experience, including direct oversight of physical move programs in a studio or large corporate environment.
- Prior experience managing union labor, preferably under IATSE or a related local agreement.
- Familiarity with production office workflow and the logistical demands of episodic television or feature film production schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, develop cost estimates, and process change orders on capital or operational projects.
- Strong working knowledge of safety protocols, crew scheduling tools, and facilities management platforms.
Why This Role

The Relocation Manager position offers direct visibility into studio operations leadership and involvement in capital planning decisions that shape how the lot functions. This is a staff role with genuine organizational scope, not a contractor position managing a single project.
Apply now for the Relocation Manager position at Sony Pictures Entertainment and bring your studio operations experience to one of the industry’s most active production lots.
