Untold Studios is hiring a Production Manager based in Toronto, Canada to join their VFX team. This role sits inside an active VFX pipeline, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of episodic television and feature film projects from scheduling through final delivery. It suits an experienced production professional who understands VFX workflows and knows how to keep artists, supervisors, and clients moving in the same direction.

About the Role

The Production Manager works inside Untold Studios’ production team, managing VFX deliverables across both episodic and feature projects. On any given day, that means building and tracking schedules in Shotgun, flagging risks before they become problems, and coordinating workflow across artists, leads, and supervisors. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, not a support function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed VFX production schedules using Shotgun, tracking shot progress, feedback rounds, and delivery milestones.
  • Work directly with Leads, Supervisors, and the Producer or Executive Producer to manage internal and external dependencies across episodic and feature film production.
  • Identify production risks early and communicate them clearly to the Producer or Executive Producer, then see the resolution through.
  • Manage artist workflow day-to-day, balancing workload against deadlines without compromising the quality of the VFX output.
  • Mentor Production Assistants and Coordinators, supporting their development within the post-production workflow.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across all departments, keeping communication clear and production moving on schedule and on budget.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience as a Production Manager on VFX projects, with credits across episodic television or feature film.
  • Strong working knowledge of Shotgun as a production tracking and scheduling tool.
  • A solid grasp of VFX pipeline processes, including how shots move from brief through to final delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage talented artists and senior creatives without micromanaging the work.
  • Experience anticipating production problems before they escalate, with a track record of resolving them.

Why This Role

Untold Studios works with high-profile clients on content that reaches broad audiences, and this Production Manager role puts you at the center of that output. The studio has a stated commitment to individual career development, working with each person to build a personal progression plan. It is a genuine staff role, filling an existing vacancy on an established team in Toronto.
