A typical day involves attending editorial meetings, logging incoming footage, editing video in Adobe Premiere, and writing lower thirds and banners under real deadline pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Research breaking weather events and prepare visual elements, including graphics and video packages, for use in live programming.
• Source, verify, and clear user-generated content from social media platforms for broadcast use.
• Ingest, log, and edit video and sound bites using Adobe Premiere in a live news post-production workflow.
• Write accurate lower thirds, banners, and video graphics with close attention to broadcast standards and factual precision.
• Coordinate production elements for live shots and liveliners with reporters and producers across the newsroom.
• Contribute to FOX Weather’s social media presence by identifying and packaging content that supports on-air coverage.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent newsroom experience.
• Internship or professional credit in a broadcast television, digital production, or live news environment.
• Hands-on editing experience with Adobe Premiere or comparable non-linear editing software.
• Strong writing skills suited to broadcast graphics, where brevity and accuracy carry equal weight.
• Comfort working across social media platforms for both content sourcing and audience-facing publishing.
